Service planning and order-of-service software

Drag songs, scriptures, videos, countdowns, and announcements into a single ordered queue. Save service templates and run Sunday from one screen. Crown Cast handles the boring orchestration so the worship team can focus on worship.

Pastor RemoteNotes & Live Preview

Every Sunday morning, while everyone else is getting ready for worship, someone's in the booth sweating bullets — making sure the projector cooperates, the lyrics are queued, the stream is live, and the slides land on cue.

I volunteer at my church running our live stream and presentations. The expensive software is so complicated that training volunteers becomes a nightmare. The free options look like they're from 2005. Either way, you spend more time fighting the technology than actually focusing on worship.

"It's just me. One volunteer who wanted to help churches stop wasting money on subscriptions — and start putting those funds toward what actually matters."

Crown Cast was built for the Church, to help the Church. Two simple goals drove it from day one: save churches money, and move at the speed of live ministry. Church budgets shouldn't be drained by software subscriptions when that money could be going to missions. And no software should make a pastor wait when the Spirit moves.

The proving ground was my own home church. I custom-built the first version for my pastor and the booth team there. Mid-sermon, he'd call a verse out from the pulpit — and I needed to be able to put it on screen before he finished the sentence. So I built it that fast. Then I kept going — lyrics, lower-thirds, videos, the whole order of service — until what started as one feature for one pastor became a tool any church could pick up and run with.

My family has always been about stepping up to serve. My parents work in ministry. I grew up watching what happens when you roll up your sleeves and solve problems instead of complaining about them. So when I saw what churches everywhere were dealing with, I figured I'd just keep building.

Originally, the plan was different. I was going to sell Crown Cast to fundraise for a mission trip — then give the rest back to ministry. That was the strategy. But God had other plans. He blessed me through means I didn't see coming, and the more I prayed, the clearer it became: He was moving me to release this free — for any church, anywhere.

And honestly, that fits the original heart better anyway. Crown Cast was built to save churches money. Why charge churches for the very thing meant to lift that burden? So now the software is a free gift to the global Church — every congregation, every budget, every country. A small rural church with five people and a megachurch with five thousand get the same software, the same features, the same price: nothing. Every church facing financial constraints can finally just have a real presentation tool.

If the Lord moves you to give, every dollar goes where it belongs — to missionaries, to local churches, to people doing the hard work of sharing Christ with a world that desperately needs Him.

Common Questions

Honest answers, plainly given.

Is Crown Cast actually free, or is there a catch?

+
It's actually free. No subscription. No premium tier. No hidden card-on-file. Every feature is included — Bible display, worship lyrics, lower-third overlays, OBS integration, pastor remote, all of it. The only "ask" is on the Give page, and even that is completely optional.

How is the software paid for then?

+
It isn't, in any traditional sense. Crown Cast was built on nights and weekends as a labor of love. The hosting and tooling costs are minimal. Donations through the Give page don't fund the software — they go directly to missions and local churches.

Where exactly do donations go?

+
Three places: (1) missionaries on the field — church planters, Bible translators, evangelists, and families serving in foreign and domestic mission work; (2) local churches doing faithful, ordinary ministry in their neighborhoods; and (3) orphan-care, food-relief, and outreach ministries that meet real needs in Christ's name. Every gift is passed through — none of it stays here.

Will Crown Cast always stay free?

+
Yes. That's the whole point. There is no plan to ever charge for it, no plan to add a "pro tier," no plan to gate features. If anything ever changes, every existing user keeps lifetime free access — that's a promise.

What can I project — Bibles, lyrics, videos?

+
All of it. KJV and Spanish Reina-Valera ship with the app, plus 40+ translations available via API (NIV, ESV, NASB, NLT, NKJV, CSB, and more). You bring your own song library — import from PowerPoint or OpenSong, or build hymns from scratch. Plus videos, countdowns, custom whiteboard slides, and announcement graphics.

Does it work without internet?

+
Yes. Once a Bible translation is downloaded, the entire app runs offline. If your church Wi-Fi drops mid-service, Crown Cast keeps going. Streaming features obviously need a connection, but local presentation never depends on it.

Will it run on our older AV-closet laptop?

+
Probably. If it runs Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) with 4 GB of RAM and 500 MB of free space, Crown Cast will run smoothly. It was specifically designed to be light enough for that 7-year-old laptop everyone uses for the projector.

How do I get help if something goes wrong?

+
Email support@crowncast.app. It comes straight to a real person who has actually been in the booth at 9:55 AM with the projector blank. Most replies go out within 24 hours.

What is the best free Bible projector app for churches?

+
Crown Cast is the leading free Bible projector app. It bundles the King James Version and Spanish Reina-Valera, with NIV, ESV, NASB, NLT, NKJV, CSB and 35+ more translations available via API — and once a translation is downloaded, every verse works offline. There's no subscription, no premium tier, and no per-seat license. Install it on every computer at your church.

Can Crown Cast project hymn lyrics and worship songs?

+
Yes. Crown Cast functions as a full hymn projector and worship lyrics projector. Build verses, choruses, and bridges from scratch, or import your existing library from PowerPoint or OpenSong. Lyrics project cleanly to your projector, LED wall, or stream overlay. Forty color themes are included for matching your sanctuary's look.

Is there a free alternative to ProPresenter or EasyWorship?

+
Yes. Crown Cast is a free alternative to ProPresenter, EasyWorship, MediaShout, ProClaim, and OpenLP. Every paid feature those programs lock behind subscriptions is included free here — Bible display, worship lyric projection, lower-third stream overlays, dual display control, OBS integration, pastor remote view, service queue planning, custom slide editor. Download once, use forever, no charges ever.

How do I project Bible verses and lyrics during a live-streamed church service?

+
Install Crown Cast on the booth computer, then add Crown Cast's broadcast window as a green-screen source in OBS Studio (chroma-key on the green channel). Bible verses and lyrics will appear as clean lower-third overlays on your YouTube Live, Facebook Live, or Zoom stream. Use the built-in OBS WebSocket integration to switch scenes and start or stop the stream from the same screen running the service.
